How to report infringing material on Choosr, how we respond, and how we handle product imagery, review text and brand marks.

Last updated 18 August 2026

1.Our position on copyright

Choosr respects intellectual property rights. We publish original editorial analysis and the Choosr Score alongside factual product data, retailer listings and limited quoted material used for identification, comparison and commentary.

If you own rights in material appearing on Choosr and believe it is used without authorisation, send us a notice and we will act promptly under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. Section 512, and equivalent notice and takedown regimes elsewhere.

2.Designated copyright agent

Send all copyright notices to our designated agent:

Copyright Agent, Choosr
Email: dmca@choosr.app
Postal address available on request

Notices sent to any other address may be delayed. Email is the fastest route and is treated as written notice.

3.What a takedown notice must include

To be effective under Section 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are covered by a single notice.
  • Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it, including the full Choosr URL and, where relevant, the specific image, video, paragraph or ASIN.
  • Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

Incomplete notices may not trigger our obligations, but we will normally contact you and explain what is missing.

4.What happens after we receive a notice

  • We acknowledge receipt, usually within two business days.
  • We remove or disable access to the identified material expeditiously where the notice appears valid.
  • We notify the uploader or, for internally generated material, the responsible editor, and provide a copy of the notice.
  • We record the notice in our repeat infringer log.
  • If a valid counter notice arrives, we may restore the material after 10 to 14 business days unless you tell us you have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity.

5.Counter notices

If your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter notice to dmca@choosr.app containing:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the removed material and the location where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address and telephone number.
  • A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address, or, if outside the United States, of a district in which Choosr may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the complainant.

6.Misrepresentation and repeat infringers

Under 17 U.S.C. Section 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages and legal costs. Do not file a notice to remove criticism, comparison or an unfavourable score.

We maintain a repeat infringer policy. Accounts or contributors that are the subject of repeated valid notices will be terminated.

7.Product images, review text and trade marks

Product titles, images and specifications are sourced from retailers, marketplaces and licensed data providers, and remain the property of their owners. Where review content is referenced, it is attributed to the marketplace it came from and shown in summary rather than reproduced wholesale.

Brand names and logos are used nominatively to identify the products we cover. That use is not a claim of ownership, affiliation or endorsement. Trade mark concerns can also be sent to dmca@choosr.app.

AI generated imagery and video on Choosr is produced by us for illustration and is labelled where it appears in product galleries. If such media resembles protected work, tell us and we will review it.

8.Other removal requests

For personal data removal, see the rights section of our Privacy Policy. For factual corrections about a product or a score, email legal@choosr.app with the URL and the correction, and we will review it against our scoring methodology.
