What it is

The Akeelia AP380 disrupts the high-coverage air purifier market by offering a double-sided intake design at a fraction of the cost of premium brands. By pulling air from two directions simultaneously, it manages to maintain a slim profile while effectively circulating air in rooms up to 3000 square feet. The inclusion of a PM2.5 sensor provides real-time feedback, allowing the Auto Mode to react instantly to spikes in dust or pet dander, which is a standout feature for a unit at this price point. What sets this model apart is its specific focus on pet owners. The washable pre-filters are engineered to handle thick fur and hair without clogging the core HEPA filter, significantly extending the life of your consumables. With an added aromatherapy tray and an ultra-quiet sleep mode that drops to 15-20dB, it serves as both a functional medical-grade cleaner and a lifestyle wellness device that blends seamlessly into a bedroom or office environment.

Ravvy AI insight

While the 3000 square foot rating is based on one air change per hour, this unit is most efficient in rooms between 500 and 800 square feet where it can cycle the air multiple times. The dual-filter design means you must purchase two filters for every replacement cycle, so buyers should calculate long-term costs despite the low initial purchase price.

How to get the most out of it

Placement for Maximum Airflow

Since this unit uses a double-sided intake, do not place it flush against a wall. Leave at least 12 inches of space on both sides to ensure the fans can pull air effectively from the entire room.

Ownership tips

care

Clean the Pre-filters Bi-weekly

To maintain the 300 percent pet hair capture efficiency, vacuum the external pre-filters every two weeks. This prevents the motor from straining and keeps the internal HEPA filter clean for much longer.

tip

Using the Aromatherapy Tray

Only use 2 to 3 drops of essential oil on the included pads. Over-saturating the pads can cause residue to build up inside the housing, which may attract dust over time.

Frequently asked questions

How often do the HEPA filters need replacement?

Depending on air quality and pet hair volume, the HEPA filters typically last between 4 and 8 months. The unit features a filter replacement indicator that will alert you when it is time to swap them out.

Does it produce ozone?
