What it is

This 15 piece Anchor Hocking collection is a fundamental building block for any home kitchen. It features high quality tempered glass that is designed to withstand pre-heated oven temperatures up to 425 degrees. The set covers every base from large casseroles and loaves to a dedicated pie dish and small custard cups for prep or snacking. Because the material is nonporous, it won't absorb food odors or stains, keeping the crystal clear appearance intact even after repeated use with acidic sauces or pungent ingredients. The versatility of these pieces extends beyond the oven. Every glass component is safe for the microwave, freezer, and dishwasher, allowing you to prep, cook, serve, and store leftovers in the same vessel. The inclusion of plastic lids for the smaller custard cups adds extra convenience for meal prep. While the set is heavy and requires careful handling to avoid thermal shock, the five year manufacturer warranty provides a solid safety net against chipping or cracking for daily home cooks.

Ravvy AI insight

This set offers a lower price per piece than many premium competitors while maintaining a five year warranty. To ensure longevity, always place hot glass on a dry cloth or wooden board rather than a cold countertop to prevent thermal stress. The 15 piece count is slightly inflated by including lids, but the variety of dish shapes makes it one of the most functional bundles on the market.

How to get the most out of it

Preventing Thermal Shock

Never add liquid to hot glassware or place a hot dish directly on a wet or cold surface. Allow the dish to cool slightly before moving it from the oven to the refrigerator or freezer.

Ownership tips

care

Safe Cleaning Practices

While dishwasher safe, avoid using abrasive scouring pads or harsh metal scrapers that can scratch the glass. Scratches can weaken the tempered structure over time, making it more prone to breaking.

tip

Oven Preheating

Always fully preheat your oven before placing the glass bakeware inside. Direct exposure to the intense heat during the preheating cycle can cause uneven expansion and potential breakage.

Frequently asked questions

Can these glass dishes go under the broiler?

No, you should never use glass bakeware under a broiler or on a stovetop. The direct, intense heat source can cause the glass to shatter instantly.

Are the plastic lids microwave safe?

The plastic lids are intended for storage purposes. While some plastic lids are microwave safe for reheating, it is generally recommended to remove them or leave them loosely vented to prevent melting.

What does the 5-year warranty cover?

Anchor Hocking offers a replacement for any glass item that chips, cracks, or breaks during normal household use. You must follow the provided safety and usage instructions to remain eligible for a claim.

Is the glass BPA free?

Yes, glass is naturally BPA-free and does not contain the chemicals often found in plastic containers. This makes it a safer choice for heating food and long term storage.
