What it is

The Cuisinart C77SS-15PK offers a comprehensive solution for home cooks seeking a modern look without the heavy weight of traditional forged cutlery. The standout feature is the hollow handle design, which significantly reduces wrist fatigue during long sessions of chopping or slicing. By utilizing high carbon stainless steel, these blades maintain a sharp edge longer than basic steel while resisting the typical staining and corrosion found in entry level sets. The set includes every essential tool from a versatile Santoku to specialized bird's beak paring knives. While these knives are marketed for their precision, their lightweight nature is the real selling point. The ergonomic handles are shaped to fit comfortably in the hand, providing a secure grip despite the smooth stainless steel finish. The included sharpening steel ensures you can maintain the factory edge at home, while the classic wooden block keeps the 15 piece collection organized and accessible. This is an ideal starter set for those who prefer a contemporary aesthetic and tools that feel agile rather than substantial.

Ravvy AI insight

The hollow handle construction is a strategic design choice that balances the large 15 piece count with a very approachable price. Because the handles are stainless steel rather than wood or plastic, they offer superior durability against moisture, though users should still hand wash them to prevent pitting. At this price per blade, the inclusion of a Santoku and a sharpening steel makes it a high value utility play for a first apartment or a gift.

How to get the most out of it

Using the Sharpening Steel

Regularly hone your blades using the included 8 inch sharpening steel. Hold the steel vertically and swipe the blade at a 20 degree angle to realign the edge for smoother cutting.

Ownership tips

care

Always Hand Wash

Even though they are stainless steel, the high heat and harsh detergents in dishwashers can dull the blades and cause spotting. Wash with mild soap and dry immediately with a soft cloth to maintain the finish.

tip

Use the Right Knife

Utilize the Santoku knife for precision slicing and dicing of vegetables, as the hollow divots help prevent food from sticking to the blade surface.
