What it is

Dawn Ultra remains the industry benchmark for a reason. This bulk pack includes two 51.5-ounce jugs designed with an improved easy-pour spout that minimizes waste during bottle transfers. The concentrated formula is engineered to break down tough food residue and heavy grease on contact, often requiring significantly less product than budget-tier alternatives to achieve a full sink of suds. Beyond the kitchen sink, this liquid detergent is versatile enough for household tasks like cleaning greasy tools or pre-treating fabric stains. The original blue formula provides a consistent cleaning experience without the abrasive chemicals found in heavy-duty scouring agents. By opting for these larger refill sizes, you reduce plastic waste compared to purchasing multiple small squeeze bottles. The ergonomic handle on the jug makes it manageable for most users to lift and pour despite the weight, ensuring a steady stream during the refilling process.

Ravvy AI insight

While the upfront cost is higher than store brands, Dawn Ultra's higher concentration of surfactants means you use less liquid per load, resulting in a lower cost-per-wash over time. For maximum efficiency, we recommend using a pump dispenser to control the portion size, as the liquid's high viscosity can lead to over-pouring directly from the jug. This specific twin-pack offers the best balance of volume and storage footprint for most kitchen cabinets.

Ownership tips

tip

Use a Pump Dispenser

To prevent wasting this concentrated formula, transfer it into a pump bottle. One small pump is usually enough for a full sink of dishes, which helps the large jug last for months.

care

Proper Storage

Keep the jugs in a cool, dry place and ensure the cap is tightened after each refill. This prevents the liquid from thickening or losing its fragrance over long-term storage.

Frequently asked questions

Is this formula safe for septic tanks?

Yes, Dawn Ultra is generally considered safe for septic systems when used in standard residential amounts. It contains biodegradable surfactants that break down effectively.

Does this refill work with the Dawn Powerwash sprayers?

While it is a powerful cleaner, this is a standard liquid soap and is too thick to work in the Powerwash spray bottle without significant modification. It is intended for standard squeeze or pump bottles.

How many refills can I get from one jug?

A single 51.5-ounce jug can refill a standard 7-ounce Dawn bottle roughly seven times. This two-pack provides enough soap for approximately 14 full refills of a small bottle.

Can I use this in my dishwasher machine?

No, you should never put liquid dish soap in a dishwasher. The high-sudsing formula will create an overflow of bubbles that can leak out of the machine and damage the internal components.
