What it is

The Diggs Evolv redefines the traditional wire kennel by prioritizing both pet safety and home aesthetics. Unlike standard metal cages that can feel industrial, this modular crate features a slim profile and an ash finish that integrates into living spaces like furniture. The standout innovation is the diamond-shaped mesh, which is specifically engineered to prevent paws or jaws from getting stuck, a common hazard with wider-spaced bars. Its modular nature allows for multiple door placements, providing flexibility for different room layouts. Beyond its looks, the Evolv focuses on a cleaner living environment. The materials are phthalate and heavy-metal free, ensuring a non-toxic space for your dog. The removable ceiling is a thoughtful addition, making it easier to clean the interior or transition a puppy who might feel overwhelmed by a fully enclosed space. While it requires more assembly than a pop-up crate, the resulting structure is sturdy and avoids the sharp edges typical of budget alternatives.

Ravvy AI insight

The Evolv sits in a premium category where you are paying for safety engineering and aesthetics rather than portability. If you need a crate that moves between rooms frequently, this heavier, semi-permanent structure might be less ideal than the Diggs Revol. However, for a fixed puppy training station that won't ruin your decor, the diamond mesh and lack of sharp corners offer superior peace of mind.

Ownership tips

tip

Door Placement

Plan your room layout before assembly. The Evolv allows you to place doors on different sides, so think about where your dog will enter and how the crate fits against your furniture.

care

Cleaning the Mesh

Use a damp cloth with mild soap to wipe down the diamond mesh. Avoid abrasive scrubbers that could chip the finish, as the smooth surface is designed to stay clean with minimal effort.

Frequently asked questions

Does the crate come with all four doors?

No, the standard Evolv purchase includes two doors. The frame is designed to support up to four doors, but additional door panels must be purchased separately if you need more access points.

Is the Evolv crate portable for travel?

While it can be disassembled, the Evolv is designed as a semi-permanent home crate. If you need a crate for frequent travel or one that collapses in seconds, the Diggs Revol is a better alternative.

What makes the diamond mesh safer?

Standard wire crates have vertical bars that can catch a dog's collar or allow a paw to slip through and twist. The tight diamond pattern prevents these gaps, significantly reducing the risk of entrapment.

Can I use any dog bed inside the Evolv?

You can use any bed that fits the internal dimensions, but Diggs offers the Bolstr bed specifically sized for this model. Note that the Diggs Snooz bed is not compatible with the Evolv series.
