What it is

The GoodBaby SM663 delivers a robust monitoring experience without the vulnerabilities of internet-connected devices. By utilizing a dedicated 2.4GHz FHSS signal, it ensures your nursery feed remains private and free from hackers. The 5 inch display provides a wide view of the room, supported by remote pan and tilt functions that allow you to scan the nursery without entering and risking waking your child. What sets this unit apart in its price bracket is the endurance of the 3500mAh battery. In VOX mode, the screen stays dark until noise is detected, allowing the parent unit to last through an entire night and well into the next day. The integration of temperature sensors and two way audio creates a complete feedback loop, letting you soothe your infant remotely or adjust the thermostat before they become truly uncomfortable.

Ravvy AI insight

While the 480p resolution is lower than premium competitors, the 5 inch screen size compensates by making movement easy to spot. The VOX mode is the standout feature here, significantly extending battery life compared to cheap monitors that require constant charging. We recommend this for travel because it functions perfectly in hotels without needing to navigate complex Wi-Fi login portals.

Optimizing VOX Sensitivity

Adjust the VOX sensitivity levels to prevent the screen from turning on for minor ambient sounds like a white noise machine. This ensures the monitor only alerts you to actual crying, maximizing your battery life.

Ownership tips

tip

Placement for Best Signal

Keep the antenna fully extended on the parent unit when moving between floors. Avoid placing the camera near large metal appliances or microwave ovens, which can interfere with the 2.4GHz frequency.

care

Battery Longevity

Try to avoid leaving the parent unit plugged in 24/7 once it is fully charged. Letting the battery cycle occasionally helps maintain the internal lithium ion cells for better long term performance.
