What it is

The Gorilla Grip Dog Food Mat is a specialized solution for pet owners tired of mopping up water splashes and kibble debris. Constructed from flexible, food grade silicone, this mat features a distinct 0.125 inch raised edge that acts as a dam to contain spills. The textured surface is covered in raised dots, which provides enough friction to keep stainless steel or ceramic bowls from sliding across the floor while your pet eats. Beyond simple spill containment, the mat is built to endure daily wear in high traffic kitchens. The waterproof material prevents moisture from seeping through to hardwood or laminate floors, mitigating the risk of water damage or staining. Its versatility allows it to serve as a base for gravity feeders or even a catch-all for litter tracking, though its primary strength lies in its low profile and ease of cleaning. You can simply rinse it in the sink or wipe it down after a messy meal.

Ravvy AI insight

While marketed for dogs, the 18.5 inch dimensions are actually ideal for feline feeding stations where space is limited. The machine washable claim is useful, but manual wiping is recommended to preserve the silicone integrity over time. Pay close attention to the raised lip height if you have a very messy drinker, as it holds roughly a cup of liquid before overflowing.

Ownership tips

care

Removing Mineral Deposits

If you have hard water, white spots may appear on the gray silicone. Wipe the mat with a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar to restore the original finish without using harsh chemicals.

tip

Bowl Placement Strategy

For maximum stability, place your pet bowls directly over the raised dots. This creates a mechanical grip that prevents even aggressive eaters from pushing the bowl off the mat edges.
