What it is

The Happi N Pets 28 inch Cat Tree solves a common frustration for owners of larger breeds: the tiny perch problem. While most compact towers feature small, circular platforms that leave big cats dangling off the edge, this model utilizes an expansive 23.6 inch rectangular top bed. This oversized surface allows even the heaviest felines to stretch out fully for window viewing without the risk of falling. The design prioritizes stability over height, using a wide engineered wood base to prevent the tipping issues often seen in taller, narrower models. Functionality is balanced across three distinct levels. The middle level features a soft hammock for secure napping, while the sturdy vertical posts are fully wrapped in natural sisal to endure aggressive scratching. Because the top plush cover is removable and machine-washable, maintaining a hygienic environment is significantly easier than with traditional carpeted towers. It serves as a middle-ground furniture piece that fits under windows or in corners without dominating the room, making it an excellent choice for apartment dwellers who own large cats.

Ravvy AI insight

This product earns its high sentiment score by solving the 'scale' issue usually found in budget pet furniture. While the price suggests a standard small tower, the dimensions of the top plate are comparable to luxury brands, making it a high-value pick for those with cats over 15 pounds. We recommend checking the tightness of the hammock bolts every few months, as the lower level takes the brunt of lateral force during high-speed leaps.

How to get the most out of it

Maximizing Stability

Place the unit against a wall or in a corner to provide extra lateral support. While the base is heavy, positioning it near a solid surface ensures zero movement when heavy cats launch themselves into the hammock.

Ownership tips

care

Maintaining the Plush Cover

Wash the removable top cover on a delicate cycle with cold water. Avoid high heat in the dryer to prevent the synthetic fibers from matting or shrinking, which ensures a perfect fit back onto the frame.

tip

Attracting Your Cat

If your cat is hesitant to use the new scratching posts, rub a small amount of dried catnip into the sisal rope. This encourages them to mark their scent on the tower rather than your furniture.

Frequently asked questions

Will a Maine Coon really fit on the top perch?

Yes, the top perch measures roughly 23 by 15 inches, which is significantly larger than the standard 12 inch round perches found on most small towers. It is specifically designed to allow large breeds to lie flat rather than curling up into a ball.

Is the scratching post made of real sisal?

The posts are wrapped in natural, high quality sisal rope. This provides a much more satisfying and durable texture for cats than the thin carpet or faux fur used on lower quality furniture.

How difficult is the assembly?

Assembly is very straightforward and typically takes less than 15 minutes. All necessary tools and hardware are included in the box, and the instructions use clear diagrams to guide you through the three level setup.

Can the hammock be removed for cleaning?

While the top perch cover is easily removable via an elastic border, the hammock is integrated into the structural support. It can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth and pet safe detergent, but it is not machine washable like the top bed.
