What it is
The Comnova Grill Cover offers a specialized fit for the expansive Traeger Ironwood XL, providing a protective barrier against the elements without the premium price tag of branded accessories. Constructed from 600D heavy duty oxford cloth, it utilizes a PU coating rather than standard PVC. This choice in materials results in a softer, more pliable fabric that resists cracking in cold temperatures and offers better breathability to prevent moisture buildup underneath the hood. Functionality is prioritized with the inclusion of wide velcro side straps that allow for a snug, custom fit. This design ensures the cover remains anchored during high winds while maintaining a clean silhouette. The quick drying exterior simplifies maintenance, allowing users to hose off debris and have the cover dry in the sun within minutes. It is a practical investment for those who store their pellet grills on open patios or in regions with intense UV exposure.
Ravvy AI insight
While marketed for the Ironwood XL, the 70 inch width makes this a versatile heavy-duty option for any large pellet grill. Prioritize the PU coating over PVC alternatives if you live in a climate with extreme temperature swings, as PU remains flexible and is less prone to brittle tearing over time.

How to get the most out of it
Ensuring a Windproof Fit
When securing the cover, pull the velcro side straps tight and press them firmly together. This creates a vacuum-like tension that prevents wind from getting underneath and lifting the cover off the grill.
Ownership tips
care
Preventing Internal Mold
Always ensure the grill is completely dry before covering it after a rainy cookout. While the PU coating is breathable, trapping standing water inside can lead to mildew on your grill surface.
tip
Safety First
Wait at least 15 minutes after shutting down your smoker before applying the cover. Putting the 600D fabric on a hot firebox can damage the waterproof coating or cause the fabric to fuse to the metal.
