What it is

The Oral-B Glide Comfort Plus marks a significant evolution for the brand, moving away from PTFE-based materials to a new micro-textured fiber. This three-pack offers a substantial supply of wide, flat floss that behaves more like a ribbon than a traditional string. It is specifically engineered to compress and slide through narrow gaps between teeth without shredding or snapping, which is a common frustration with standard round floss. The light wax coating ensures you can maintain a firm grip even when things get wet, providing better control over the tension. Beyond just debris removal, the soft texture is designed to be forgiving on the gingival margin. It provides a gentle massaging sensation that helps stimulate blood flow in the gums without the sharp, cutting feel of thinner nylon strands. For users who have avoided flossing due to discomfort or bleeding, this tape offers a much smoother experience. The mint flavor is present but restrained, leaving a clean feeling without an overwhelming chemical aftertaste.

Ravvy AI insight

While many competitors still use traditional nylon that can fray, the unique micro-textured fiber here offers a superior tensile strength that prevents mid-floss breakage. Buyers should note the transition to a PFAS-free formula, which maintains the classic 'glide' sensation while addressing modern health and environmental preferences.

How to get the most out of it

The C-Shape Technique

For maximum effectiveness, wrap the floss in a C-shape around the base of each tooth. This ensures the wide tape surface makes contact with the hidden areas beneath the gumline.

Ownership tips

tip

Use Enough Length

Use about 18 inches of floss. This allows you to wind the used portions around your fingers so you are always using a clean segment for every tooth gap.

care

Store in a Dry Place

Keep the dispensers in a drawer rather than on a humid countertop. While the wax is durable, excessive moisture can eventually affect the adhesive on the packaging or the flavor potency.
