What it is

The Qiyuan Outdoor Power Strip solves the common frustration of cramped sockets by providing wide spacing that actually accommodates six large plugs or timers simultaneously. Its IPX6 rating and spring-loaded covers ensure that heavy rain or snow won't interrupt your holiday lights or pond pumps, making it a reliable hub for year-round exterior power needs. Unlike basic indoor strips, this unit features a flame-retardant shell and a resettable circuit breaker designed to handle a consistent 1625W load. Beyond just standard AC outlets, the integration of two USB-A ports and one USB-C port adds modern convenience for backyard entertaining or camping. You can charge mobile devices directly without exposing bulky wall adapters to the elements. The inclusion of dual keyhole mounts on the back allows for secure vertical installation on fences or posts, which is highly recommended to keep the unit away from potential ground-level puddles.

Ravvy AI insight

The inclusion of a USB-C port is a rare and welcome addition for this price point in the outdoor category. While it is rated for rain, the 13A limit means you should calculate your total wattage carefully if connecting multiple high-draw inflatable decorations simultaneously.

How to get the most out of it

Proper Mounting Orientation

Always mount the power strip vertically on a wall or post with the cord exit pointing downwards. This utilizes gravity to ensure rainwater sheds off the covers rather than pooling around the seals.

Ownership tips

tip

Calculating Your Load

Check the wattage of your outdoor inflatables and light strands before plugging them in. Ensure the combined total stays under 1625 watts to prevent the internal circuit breaker from tripping.

care

Socket Maintenance

Periodically inspect the spring-loaded covers to ensure they snap shut tightly. Wipe away any dirt or debris from the gasket area to maintain a water-tight seal when the outlets are not in use.

Frequently asked questions

Can I leave this power strip out in the snow?

Yes, the IPX6 rating is designed to protect against rain and snow. However, you must ensure it is not buried under snow drifts where melting water could submerge the unit.

Will the USB ports fast charge my phone?

The USB ports provide up to 12W of power. While this is sufficient for steady charging of phones and tablets, it will not match the speeds of dedicated high-wattage fast chargers.

Is it safe to use for a pool pump?

It can be used for small pool pumps as long as the pump's amperage does not exceed the 13A rating of the strip. Never place the strip where it could fall into the pool.

Does it have built-in surge protection?

Yes, this model includes surge protection and a resettable overload switch to protect your connected electronics from voltage spikes and circuit overloads.
