What it is

The RADA Paring Knife Galore set offers a focused approach to kitchen prep with three distinct blade shapes. Each knife is constructed from T420 high-carbon stainless steel that is hollow ground to a razor edge. The brushed aluminum handles provide a nostalgic, lightweight feel that many home cooks find more maneuverable than modern plastic or heavy resin grips. The set includes a Peeling Paring, a Regular Paring, and a Heavy Duty Paring knife to cover everything from intricate garnishes to trimming meats. While these knives offer impressive sharpness right out of the box, they represent a more traditional style of cutlery. The permanently cast aluminum handles are not dishwasher safe, requiring a dedicated hand-washing routine to maintain their finish. However, their slim profile and lightweight design make them an excellent choice for users who find larger, thicker professional knives cumbersome for small, precise tasks like coring strawberries or peeling apples.

Ravvy AI insight

These knives excel in edge retention due to the T420 steel but are thinner than premium forged alternatives. They are best utilized as 'detail' tools rather than all-purpose workhorses. The low cost per unit makes them an ideal entry point for high-carbon steel without the high price tag typically associated with domestic manufacturing.

Ownership tips

care

Always Hand Wash Only

The aluminum handles will undergo a chemical reaction in the dishwasher that causes them to turn grey and leave residue on your hands. Use mild soap and a soft cloth to maintain the silver finish.

tip

Use a Sharpening Stone

Because these blades are high-carbon steel, they respond beautifully to a simple sharpening stone or RADA's own wheel sharpener. A quick touch-up once a month will keep them performing like new.
