What it is

The Soundcore Select 4 Go is a masterclass in utility-focused design, packing significant durability into a chassis roughly the size of a smartphone. While its 5W output won't power a large party, it provides surprising clarity and mid-range punch for personal listening in humid environments. The standout feature is its IP67 rating, which allows the unit to survive total submersion and even float, making it a reliable companion for kayaking or poolside lounging without the fear of it sinking to the bottom. Battery life is where this mini speaker truly outpaces its competition. Offering 20 hours of playback, it can last through an entire weekend camping trip or several weeks of daily showers on a single charge. The physical interface is tactile and straightforward, and while the mono driver has its limits, the ability to pair two units for true wireless stereo creates a much wider soundstage for those who want a more immersive stationary setup.

Ravvy AI insight

The Select 4 Go occupies a sweet spot by offering App support for EQ customization, a rarity at this sub-thirty dollar price point. While the 4.5-hour recharge time is slow by modern standards, the massive 20-hour runtime means you will rarely be tethered to a wall. For the best experience, use the Soundcore app to boost the treble slightly, as the factory tuning favors a warmer, bass-heavy profile that can sound muffled in open outdoor spaces.

Ownership tips

tip

Optimize the EQ

Download the Soundcore app to access the equalizer. Because this is a small 5W speaker, reducing the heaviest bass frequencies can actually help the vocals sound clearer at higher volumes.

care

Post-Saltwater Rinse

If you take the speaker to the beach or in the ocean, rinse it with fresh water afterward. This prevents salt crystals from corroding the charging port or the mesh covering the driver.

Frequently asked questions

Can this speaker really float?

Yes, it is designed with internal air pockets that allow it to bob on the surface of the water. This makes it much easier to find if it falls out of a kayak or off the side of a pool.

Does it come with a wall charger?

No, the package includes a USB-C to USB-A charging cable, but you will need to provide your own 5V wall adapter. You can also charge it using a laptop or a portable power bank.

How long does it take to fully charge?

It takes approximately 4.5 hours to go from zero to one hundred percent. While this is slow, the 20-hour battery life ensures you won't need to charge it very often.

Can I use it to take phone calls?

While it is primarily for music, it does include a built-in microphone. This allows you to answer calls hands-free while in the shower or working in the yard.
