What it is

The Traveler's Choice Pagosa set offers a pragmatic solution for travelers who need a cohesive luggage system without the premium price tag. Constructed from polypropylene, this hardshell duo is specifically engineered to absorb impacts rather than cracking under pressure. The textured surface is a smart addition, effectively masking the scuffs and abrasions that inevitably occur during airport handling. Inside, the organization is straightforward yet effective. The inclusion of a zippered divider and multiple mesh pockets ensures that your belongings stay stationary during transit. With the two inch expansion gusset, both the carry-on and the larger checked bag provide necessary flexibility for souvenirs or bulky winter clothing. The addition of a bottom grab handle is a small but critical design detail that makes retrieving heavy bags from car trunks or luggage carousels significantly easier.

Ravvy AI insight

The use of polypropylene (PP) instead of cheaper ABS plastic is the key selling point here, as PP offers superior flexibility and cold-weather durability. Buyers should note that while the 27 inch bag provides ample space, the dual spinner wheels are best suited for paved airport floors rather than rough cobblestones. The integrated TSA lock and multiple grab handles provide excellent utility for the current market price.

How to get the most out of it

Set the TSA Lock

The default code is 0-0-0. To change it, press the reset button with a pen, dial your new code, and slide the latch to lock it in. Always test your new code while the bag is open to ensure it works correctly.

Ownership tips

tip

Maximize Your Packing

Use the compression straps in the main compartment for your heaviest items like jeans and shoes. This lowers the center of gravity and makes the spinner wheels much easier to control through the airport.

care

Maintain the Wheels

Periodically wipe down the spinner wheel axles with a damp cloth to remove grit and hair. A small drop of silicone lubricant can keep the 360 degree rotation smooth if the wheels begin to squeak.

Frequently asked questions

Is the carry-on piece compliant with most airlines?

The 22 inch carry-on is designed to fit most domestic overhead bins. However, always check specific airline dimensions if you plan to use the expansion feature, as an expanded bag may exceed depth limits.

What is the benefit of polypropylene over ABS plastic?

Polypropylene is more flexible and less brittle than ABS. This means the shell is more likely to bend and pop back into shape during rough handling instead of cracking, especially in cold temperatures.

Does this set include a key for the TSA lock?

No, TSA locks do not come with a key for the owner. The keyhole is exclusively for TSA agents to use a master key for inspections without breaking your zipper or lock.

How do the bags store when not in use?

The 22 inch carry-on fits perfectly inside the 27 inch checked bag. This nesting design is ideal for saving closet space when you are not traveling.
