What it is

The Trekassy Platform Saucer Swing offers a sprawling 60 inch rectangular seat that defies the typical circular design found in most backyard sets. This elongated platform allows multiple children or even a parent and child to lounge comfortably together. The rainbow colored Oxford fabric is durable enough to handle standard weather exposure while providing a cushioned surface that is far more comfortable than rigid plastic seats. The A-frame stand is constructed from powder coated alloy steel, designed to provide a stable base without the need for permanent concrete installation. Setting up the unit is straightforward thanks to pre-drilled components, making it a viable weekend project for a single adult. While the frame is rated for 440 pounds, the extra large swing seat itself can technically hold more, though you are always limited by the stand's capacity. The inclusion of ground anchors is a vital safety addition, ensuring the legs stay planted during high-energy play. It serves as an excellent sensory tool for children who require rhythmic movement to relax, providing a spacious safe haven in the backyard.

Ravvy AI insight

While the seat is massive at 60 inches, the stand height is relatively standard at 72 inches, meaning the swing arc is shorter than professional park equipment. For the best experience, prioritize tight tension on the ground anchors to prevent frame lifting during synchronized swinging. The Oxford fabric is high quality, but longevity is best served by removing the fabric seat during harsh winter months to prevent UV and ice degradation.

How to get the most out of it

Leveling the Ground

Always install the A-frame on level ground to ensure the weight is distributed evenly across all four legs. If your yard has a slight slope, you must level the specific area where the feet rest to avoid structural stress.

Ownership tips

care

Protect the Fabric

To prevent the rainbow colors from fading, consider applying a UV-protectant spray to the Oxford fabric once a season. Alternatively, bring the seat indoors during heavy snow or extended periods of non-use.

tip

Check Hardware Monthly

Because steel frames vibrate during use, bolts can slightly loosen over time. Use the included wrench to perform a quick safety check on all connection points every 30 days during the summer.

Frequently asked questions

Can adults actually use this swing?

Yes, the stand is rated for 440 pounds and the platform is 60 inches wide, which is large enough for an adult to sit or lay down comfortably. Just ensure the ground anchors are properly secured before an adult uses it.

Is the fabric waterproof?

The Oxford fabric is water-resistant and designed for outdoor use, meaning it will shed light rain and dry quickly. However, it is porous and will become soaked in heavy downpours, so it should be allowed to air dry completely.

Does it come with everything needed for setup?

The set includes the A-frame stand, the 60 inch swing seat, all necessary hanging ropes, and the ground anchors. You will not need to purchase additional hardware to get it functional.

How much space do I need in my yard?

The stand itself measures 68 by 64 inches, but you should maintain a safety clearance of at least 6 feet in front of and behind the swing to allow for a full range of motion without hitting obstacles.
