What it is

The Under Armour 64oz Playmaker Sport Jug is designed specifically for athletes who need to stay hydrated during long practices and tournament days. Unlike traditional vacuum sealed flasks, this jug utilizes foam insulation to keep liquids cold for up to ten hours without the heavy weight of double walled steel. Its standout feature is the integrated fence hook, which keeps the bottle off the dusty ground and within easy reach during baseball or tennis matches. The ergonomics are well thought out for sweaty hands, featuring a non slip side grip and a sturdy top handle. The flip top lid includes a locking mechanism to prevent accidental spills in your gym bag, while the self draining cap ensures no water pools after a dishwasher cycle. While it is bulky due to its half gallon capacity, the lightweight polypropylene construction makes it manageable for kids and adults alike.

Ravvy AI insight

While marketed as insulated, the foam core is designed for weight savings rather than multi-day ice retention. For the best experience, pre-chill the jug in the freezer for twenty minutes before filling with ice and cold water to maximize the ten hour cooling window.

How to get the most out of it

Maximize Cooling Time

For the best results, fill the jug with ice first and then top with chilled liquid. The foam insulation works best when the interior temperature is lowered before you head out to the field.

Ownership tips

care

Cleaning the Lid

The lid is top rack dishwasher safe, but it is wise to verify the seal is seated correctly after washing. The self draining cap helps prevent mold by ensuring no water stays trapped in the crevices.

tip

Using the Fence Hook

When hanging the jug on a chain link fence, ensure it is hooked securely through the center of the handle. This prevents the jug from tipping and leaking if the lid is not fully clicked shut.

Frequently asked questions

Is this bottle vacuum insulated like a Yeti?

No, this jug uses foam insulation. This makes it significantly lighter to carry when full, though it will not keep ice as long as a heavy double walled stainless steel bottle.

Can I put hot coffee in this jug?

This jug is designed specifically for cold beverages. Using boiling or very hot liquids may damage the plastic interior or the foam insulation layer.

Does it fit in a standard car cup holder?

No, the 64 ounce diameter is much wider than a standard cup holder. It is intended to be carried by the handle or placed on a flat surface or hung on a fence.

Is the entire bottle dishwasher safe?

While the lid is specifically marked as dishwasher safe, it is generally recommended to hand wash the main body to preserve the foam insulation and exterior graphics over time.
