What it is

The Veken 9-piece set transitions the packing cube from simple organization to active space management. By utilizing a double-zipper compression system, these cubes expel excess air from your folded clothing without the need for vacuum pumps or bulky tools. The variety of sizes, ranging from Small to Extra Large, allows for a granular approach to packing where specific garment types are assigned to dedicated containers, preventing shifting and wrinkling during transit. Beyond the standard cubes, the inclusion of a dedicated laundry bag and PVC toiletry pouches creates a unified storage ecosystem for your entire trip. Constructed from reinforced polyester with breathable mesh panels, these cubes solve the common visibility problem of opaque storage bags. You can quickly identify the contents of each cube through the transparent mesh without unzipping every item. While the material is lightweight to avoid eating into your airline weight allowance, the zippers are designed for the high-tension requirements of compression. This set is particularly effective for cruise travelers and backpackers who need to fit a wide range of attire into confined cabin spaces or single carry-on bags.

Ravvy AI insight

This set offers a higher utility-to-price ratio than premium brands because it includes specialized PVC and laundry bags rarely found in basic bundles. When using the compression feature, roll your clothes instead of folding them to minimize fabric stress and prevent the 'sausage' bulge that can occur in the middle of the cube. The 9-piece configuration is best suited for check-in luggage between 24 and 30 inches, as the full set may overwhelm a standard 20-inch carry-on.

How to get the most out of it

Managing the Compression Zipper

Place a finger behind the zipper track as you close the compression seal. This prevents the interior fabric from getting caught in the teeth, which is the most common cause of zipper failure in travel bags.

Ownership tips

tip

Avoid Overfilling for Better Stacking

Do not fill the cubes to their absolute limit if you want them to remain flat. Leaving a small amount of wiggle room allows the cubes to stack neatly on top of each other rather than rolling around like balls.

care

Cleaning Your Cubes

While the laundry bag is machine washable, the compression cubes should be hand washed with a damp cloth and mild soap. Air dry them completely before storage to prevent any mildew buildup in the mesh.

Frequently asked questions

Do these cubes really save a lot of space?

Yes, the secondary compression zipper is designed to press out air and flatten the contents. Depending on the bulkiness of your clothes, you can typically save about 30 to 40 percent of the vertical space in your suitcase.

Will these fit in a standard carry-on suitcase?

The Small, Medium, and Large cubes fit perfectly in most 20-inch carry-ons. The Extra Large cube is better suited for checked luggage or larger duffel bags, as it may be too wide for narrow overhead bins.

Are the zippers durable enough for heavy packing?

The zippers are reinforced, but they are lightweight to keep the set portable. They perform best when you manually compress the bag with your hand while sliding the zipper to reduce tension on the teeth.

Are the toiletry bags waterproof?

The two included toiletry bags are made of PVC, which is water-resistant and excellent for containing leaks from shampoo or lotion bottles. However, they should not be submerged as the zippers are not hermetically sealed.
