What it is

The WhatsBedding 5 Inch Queen Mattress Topper is designed to breathe new life into firm or aging mattresses by adding a significant layer of plush comfort. Utilizing a bamboo viscose cover and specialized air fiber materials, this topper focuses on thermal regulation. The design incorporates airflow channels that actively work to dissipate body heat, addressing the common complaint of overheating often associated with traditional thick foam pads. Security is a standout feature here, as the topper utilizes a deep pocket skirt rather than simple elastic corner straps. This ensures that the five inches of padding stay centered on the bed even for restless sleepers. The blue air layer aesthetic is paired with a machine washable construction, making it much easier to maintain hygiene compared to solid memory foam slabs that cannot be laundered.

Ravvy AI insight

While marketed as memory foam in some listings, the 'Air Fiber' and bamboo construction suggest this behaves more like a high end fiberbed with better airflow. Look for this if you want the 'cloud' feeling without the sinking, trapped heat sensation of pure polyurethane foam.

Ownership tips

care

Washing Instructions

Wash in a large capacity machine using cold water on a gentle cycle. Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach to preserve the integrity of the bamboo viscose fibers.

tip

Drying for Loft

Tumble dry on a low heat setting with a few clean tennis balls or dryer balls. This helps to redistribute the filling and prevents clumping, ensuring the topper remains fluffy.

Frequently asked questions

Will this topper slide off my mattress?

No, it features a full fabric skirt with a deep pocket design that fits mattresses from 8 to 16 inches thick. This provides a much more secure fit than toppers that only use corner elastic bands.

Is the topper actually 5 inches thick?

The topper is designed to reach a 5 inch loft once fully expanded. However, because it is a plush fiber style topper, it will compress under body weight to provide a soft cushioning effect.

Does it sleep hot like traditional memory foam?

It is specifically engineered to sleep cooler than standard foam. The combination of bamboo viscose and air fiber channels allows for significantly better moisture wicking and ventilation.

Is it waterproof?

This specific model is not waterproof. It is designed for breathability and comfort. If you are concerned about spills, we recommend using a thin waterproof mattress protector over the topper.
