What it is

The Yuposl 3L Automatic Cat Feeder is a refreshing return to basics in a market saturated with buggy mobile apps. By opting for an integrated LCD interface rather than WiFi, this feeder eliminates connectivity headaches and privacy concerns. The standout feature is its efficiency. Using only three D-size batteries, it can operate for over six months, making it a reliable choice for areas without nearby power outlets or for owners who want a wireless setup without frequent battery swaps. Despite its affordable price point, the construction focuses on feline health and security. The inclusion of a stainless steel bowl helps prevent cat acne, a common issue with porous plastic alternatives. The mechanical design features a spring-lock lid and a silicone rotor that effectively blocks clever paws from 'fishing' for extra kibble. While the 3L capacity is on the smaller side compared to bulkier models, it is perfectly sized for a single cat or small dog for up to two weeks, ensuring food stays crunchy rather than going stale in a massive hopper.

Ravvy AI insight

This feeder is an excellent solution for 'cord-chewers' because its high-efficiency battery mode allows you to skip the power cable entirely without worrying about weekly recharges. While it lacks a low-food sensor, the translucent hopper allows for quick visual checks. If you have a larger dog or multiple cats, the 3L capacity will require refills every few days, so consider a larger model unless you prioritize a small footprint.

How to get the most out of it

Testing Portion Sizes

Run a test cycle after programming to see exactly how much food one 'portion' unit dispenses. Different kibble shapes and densities will result in different weights per serving.

Ownership tips

tip

Placement for Multiple Pets

If using this for two cats who compete for food, place the units in different rooms. The compact footprint and long battery life make it easy to hide them in corners where power outlets aren't available.

care

Maintain the Desiccant

To keep kibble truly crunchy, replace the desiccant bag in the lid every 30 days. This is especially important in humid climates to prevent the dry food from clumping or molding.

Frequently asked questions

Does it lose its memory if the power goes out?

No, if you have batteries installed, the settings will remain saved during a power outage. Even without batteries, most modern units retain internal memory for a short period, but using the dual-power option is the safest way to ensure your pet never misses a meal.

Will it work with large breed dog food?

This feeder is designed for kibble between 2mm and 15mm in diameter. While it handles larger dental cat food well, very large chunks for big dogs may cause the rotor to stall or dispense inconsistent amounts.

How do I clean the feeder?

The stainless steel bowl and the food tank can be removed and washed with warm soapy water. The base, which contains the motor and electronics, should only be wiped down with a damp cloth and never submerged.

Can I record a voice message for my pet?

This specific 3L model focuses on core feeding functionality and does not include a voice recording feature. It uses the sound of the kibble hitting the stainless steel bowl to alert your pet that food has been served.
