What it is

The ZeroWater replacement filter is engineered for those who demand the highest possible level of water purity from a gravity fed pitcher. Unlike standard carbon filters that only address taste and odor, this system employs a five stage ion exchange process. It is specifically designed to strip away virtually all dissolved solids, including heavy metals like lead and mercury, as well as modern contaminants like PFOA and PFOS. The result is water that registers a zero on a TDS meter, providing a neutral and crisp profile that is ideal for tea, coffee, and pure hydration. While the filtration performance is unmatched in the pitcher category, it comes with a specific maintenance profile. Because the ion exchange resin works so aggressively, the lifespan of the filter is directly tied to your local water hardness. Users with high mineral content may find they need to replace these more frequently than standard filters to avoid a fishy aftertaste that occurs once the resin is exhausted. This two pack ensures you have a backup ready when the included meter indicates it is time for a swap.

Ravvy AI insight

ZeroWater filters excel at achieving a laboratory clean taste by removing 99 percent of dissolved solids, but they are consumable heavy. If your tap water tests above 300 PPM, expect these filters to last significantly less than the advertised 15 gallons. Always use the TDS meter to track exhaustion rather than a calendar to ensure you aren't drinking water from a saturated resin bed.

How to get the most out of it

Avoid Air Pockets

If you notice the filtration speed has slowed significantly, gently tap the filter or submerge it in water to release trapped air bubbles. This can help restore the flow rate during the middle of the filter life.

Ownership tips

tip

Monitor the TDS Meter

Do not wait for the water to taste different before changing the filter. Use the TDS meter included with your pitcher and replace the filter as soon as the reading hits 006 to maintain safety and taste.

care

Storage Conditions

Keep your pitcher in the refrigerator to maintain the best water quality. Because these filters remove chlorine, the water is more susceptible to bacterial growth if left in a warm, sunny spot on the counter.
