What it is

The Amico 12-pack offers a versatile and modern solution for homeowners looking to upgrade their ceiling lighting without the need for traditional recessed cans. These slim 6-inch fixtures feature a unique dual-mode design that toggles between standard illumination and a soft, 2000K amber night light ring. This makes them particularly effective for hallways, bathrooms, and bedrooms where full brightness can be jarring during the middle of the night. With five selectable color temperatures ranging from warm white to daylight, you can customize the ambiance of each room before completing the installation. Technically, these units are designed for ease of installation and long-term safety. The included junction boxes are IC-rated, allowing them to safely come into contact with ceiling insulation without overheating. The added synchronization reset function is a thoughtful touch, ensuring that all lights in a circuit return to the standard downlight mode even if a switch is toggled quickly or power is interrupted. While the build is lightweight, the metal trim and ETL certification provide the necessary durability and peace of mind for a major home renovation.

Ravvy AI insight

The standout feature is the 2000K amber night light mode, which is far superior for circadian rhythm preservation than dimmed white light. When installing, use a high-quality LED-compatible dimmer to avoid flickering, and always test your color temperature preference in the specific room's natural light before snapping the spring clips into the ceiling.

Ownership tips

tip

Syncing Multiple Lights

If one light in your room is on the wrong mode, turn the switch off for 10 seconds. When you turn it back on, the synchronization reset will ensure all lights start in downlight mode.

Dimmer Compatibility

For the best experience, use a modern LED-rated dimmer switch. Older incandescent dimmers may cause the lights to buzz or flicker at lower brightness levels.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate housing can for these lights?

No, these are canless lights. They come with their own junction boxes and use spring-loaded clips to attach directly to your drywall ceiling.

Can I change the color temperature after they are installed?

The CCT switch is located on the junction box inside the ceiling. While you can pull the light down to change it, it is best to choose your preferred setting before final installation.

Is the night light mode bright enough for reading?

The amber night light is designed for soft ambiance and navigation in the dark. It is generally too dim for comfortable reading but perfect for a nursery or hallway.

Are these safe to use in a bathroom?

Yes, they are suitable for damp locations like bathrooms. However, they are not rated as waterproof for areas with direct water spray like the interior of a shower stall.
