What it is

The ChomChom Roller offers a refreshing departure from the cycle of sticky tape sheets that quickly lose their effectiveness. By utilizing a specialized nylon brush material and a unique back and forth rolling motion, it creates an electrostatic charge that lifts stubborn pet hair from fabric surfaces and deposits it directly into an internal waste chamber. Unlike traditional rollers, this device works best when used in short, rapid strokes rather than long sweeping motions, allowing the brush to oscillate and trap debris efficiently. Constructed from durable plastic, this manual tool is designed for longevity and environmental impact reduction. It excels on upholstered furniture, bedding, and low pile carpets where hair often weaves into the fibers. While it lacks the flexibility for use on clothing while being worn, its performance on large household surfaces makes it an essential utility for multi-pet households looking to reduce their reliance on disposable cleaning supplies.

Ravvy AI insight

Despite its high upfront cost relative to tape rollers, the ChomChom pays for itself within months for daily cleaners. Its efficacy relies heavily on the 'back and forth' friction technique, so users should avoid using it like a traditional paint roller to ensure the waste chamber opens and shuts correctly.

How to get the most out of it

Use Rapid Strokes

For maximum hair pickup, use short and fast back and forth motions. This creates the necessary friction to move hair into the internal bin rather than just pushing it around.

Ownership tips

care

Clean the Brush Surface

Occasionally wipe the nylon brush with a damp cloth to remove fine dust buildup. This ensures the static charge remains effective for lifting hair from deep carpet fibers.

tip

Check the Bin Frequently

If you notice the roller skipping or not picking up hair, the waste compartment may be full. Emptying it regularly prevents hair from jamming the internal oscillating mechanism.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work on human hair?

Yes, it is highly effective at picking up human hair from bedding and rugs. The nylon brush mechanism traps long strands just as easily as shorter pet fur.

Can I use this on my clothes?

While it can be used on heavy fabrics like coats, it is difficult to use on thin clothing while you are wearing it. It works best when the fabric is pulled taut against a flat surface.

How long does the ChomChom last?

With proper care, a single roller can last for several years. Since there are no adhesives to dry out and no batteries to fail, the lifespan is limited only by the wear of the nylon brush.

Is it effective on car carpets?

It is an excellent tool for car detailing, especially on the flat surfaces of the trunk and floor mats. It may struggle with the tight corners and crevices of car seats.
