What it is

The EGO POWER+ ST1623T represents a significant shift in cordless lawn maintenance by removing the two biggest headaches of string trimming: line loading and manual feeding. The Line IQ technology utilizes sensors to monitor line length and automatically feeds it out without the need for traditional bumping. This ensures a consistent sixteen inch cutting path at all times. When the spool finally runs empty, the Powerload feature winds new line onto the head at the push of a button, effectively ending the frustration of manual rewinding. Built with a telescopic carbon fiber shaft, this tool balances lightweight handling with industrial strength. The shaft is backed by a lifetime warranty, highlighting EGO's confidence in its durability. Powered by a 56V 4.0Ah battery, it offers enough runtime to handle most suburban yards on a single charge. The brushless motor and variable speed trigger provide refined control, allowing you to conserve power on light grass or ramp up for thick overgrowth.

Ravvy AI insight

While the Line IQ technology is a game changer for convenience, users should note that the sensor system may feed line more frequently than a manual user would, potentially increasing line consumption. To maximize value, pair this with high quality twisted line to reduce breakage and take advantage of the telescopic shaft to prevent back strain during long sessions.

Battery Longevity

Avoid storing the 4.0Ah battery in extreme heat or cold. Store it in a climate controlled environment when not in use to maintain the health of the lithium-ion cells over several seasons.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Line IQ and Powerload?

Line IQ is a sensor-based system that automatically feeds the line while you are working so you never have to bump the head. Powerload is the motorized system that sucks new line into the head when you need to refill the spool.

Does it come with a battery and charger?

Yes, the ST1623T kit includes one 4.0Ah 56V ARC Lithium battery and a 320W fast charger. The battery is compatible with all other EGO Power+ tools.

How long does the battery last on a full charge?

You can expect up to 60 minutes of runtime depending on the grass density and the speed setting used. Heavy brush will drain the battery faster than light grass trimming.

Is the carbon fiber shaft really that durable?

Yes, carbon fiber is stronger than aluminum and lighter than steel. EGO is so confident in its durability that they offer a lifetime warranty specifically on the carbon fiber shaft itself.
