What it is

The IMIPAW Automatic Cat Feeder serves as a budget-friendly solution for pet owners who need consistent meal scheduling without the high cost of smart-app enabled devices. Its 3-liter capacity is perfectly sized for cats and small dogs, providing enough storage to cover long weekends or short business trips. The interface utilizes a straightforward 12-hour clock system, allowing users to program up to six meals daily with granular portion control to prevent overeating. Built with reliability in mind, the unit features a dual power system that switches to battery backup during outages, ensuring your pet never misses a meal. The design includes a steep exit angle to minimize food jams and a locking lid to deter clever pets from breaking into the hopper. While it lacks the high-tech bells and whistles of premium brands, its focus on fundamental functionality and food freshness makes it a practical addition to any pet-centric household.

Ravvy AI insight

At its price point, this feeder excels by focusing on mechanical reliability over connectivity. The 7-9 gram portion increments offer better weight management than many competitors, but users should calibrate their specific kibble size to the portion numbers during the first three days to ensure accuracy.

How to get the most out of it

Calibrating Portions

Before leaving your pet alone, dispense five test portions and weigh them. Since different kibble densities vary, this helps you calculate exactly how many 'units' equal your pet's required daily caloric intake.

Ownership tips

care

Maintaining Freshness

Replace the desiccant bag in the lid every 30 days. This prevents moisture buildup which can lead to mold or stale kibble, especially in humid environments.

tip

Power Redundancy

Always install fresh D-cell batteries even if you plan to use the wall outlet. This ensures the internal clock and schedule remain active during brief power flickers or outages.

Frequently asked questions

What size kibble works best with this feeder?

The feeder is designed for dry kibble between 2mm and 12mm in diameter. Using larger or unusually shaped treats can cause the internal rotor to jam.

Can I use this for wet food?

No, this device is exclusively designed for dry pet food. Wet or canned food will damage the internal motor and create significant hygiene issues.

How long will the 3L tank last?

For an average adult cat, a full 3-liter hopper typically provides enough food for approximately 10 to 15 days, depending on your specific portion settings.

Does it save settings after a power failure?

Yes, if batteries are installed, the device retains all programming. If no batteries are present during a power cut, you will need to reset the clock and feeding schedule.
