What it is

The Voluas 4L Automatic Cat Feeder serves as a practical solution for pet owners who need to maintain strict feeding schedules without being physically present. With its ability to program up to four meals a day and customize portions in small increments, it is particularly effective for pets that require weight management or those prone to begging for early breakfasts. The unit features an intuitive LCD interface that removes the need for smartphone apps, making it a great choice for those who prefer standalone hardware over complex smart home ecosystems. Built with utility in mind, the feeder includes a dual power supply system that ensures your pet is fed even during electrical outages. The 10-second voice recording feature adds a personal touch, calling your pet to the bowl with a familiar sound to reduce anxiety. While the plastic construction is lightweight, the opaque 4-liter reservoir holds enough dry kibble to last a single cat roughly two to three weeks, providing significant peace of mind during short business trips or weekend getaways.

Ravvy AI insight

This feeder excels in reliability because it avoids the common connectivity drops found in cheap WiFi models. At this price point, the mechanical portioning is surprisingly accurate for standard small kibble, but owners of very large dogs should look elsewhere as the 4L capacity and small exit chute are optimized for cats and toy breeds.

How to get the most out of it

Calibrate Your Portions

Different kibble shapes dispense at different rates. Run a test cycle of 5 portions and weigh the result to ensure you are meeting your pet's specific caloric needs accurately.

Ownership tips

care

Prevent Feline Acne

Since the included bowl is plastic, wash it every few days with hot soapy water to prevent bacteria buildup. Consider placing a small stainless steel bowl inside the plastic tray if your pet has sensitive skin.

tip

Use Fresh Batteries

Always install three fresh D-cell batteries even if you plan to use the wall plug. The batteries act as a failsafe so your programming is saved and the motor runs during a power outage.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use wet food in this dispenser?

No, this feeder is designed exclusively for dry kibble. Using wet or semi-moist food will clog the internal mechanism and could cause the motor to fail or the food to spoil.

Does it lose its settings if it is unplugged?

If you have D-cell batteries installed, it will retain all programmed schedules and portion settings. If there are no batteries and it loses power, you will need to reset the clock and feeding times.

How loud is the voice recording?

The speaker is moderately loud and clear enough for a pet to recognize a voice. It plays three times at the start of the dispensing cycle to ensure your pet hears it from another room.

What size kibble works best?

Standard round or triangular kibble between 2mm and 12mm works most reliably. Very large breed dog food or unusually shaped long biscuits may cause occasional jams.
