What it is

The Kobo Libra Colour brings a much-needed splash of life to the traditionally monochrome world of e-readers. Its Kaleido 3 display technology provides a soft, newspaper-like color palette that makes book covers, graphic novels, and highlighted text pop without the harsh glare of a standard tablet. The ergonomic design remains a standout feature, utilizing a curved edge and physical page-turn buttons that make one-handed reading comfortable for hours on end. Beyond just reading, this device functions as a versatile digital notebook when paired with the optional Kobo Stylus 2. You can annotate EPUBs directly in color or maintain personal journals. With its IPX8 waterproof rating and 32GB of storage, it is built for both the bathtub and the long-haul traveler, offering a more open ecosystem than competitors by supporting diverse file formats and seamless public library borrowing via OverDrive.

Ravvy AI insight

While color E Ink is a game changer for comics, potential buyers should know that the screen uses a specialized filter that makes the background look slightly greyish compared to the Paperwhite. However, the addition of Google Drive and Dropbox support makes this a superior productivity tool for those who manage their own document libraries.
