What it is

The Laffizz 2 Pack offers a clever hedge against the unpredictable elements of the wild by combining two distinct ignition technologies. The electric dual arc lighter provides a flameless, windproof solution that charges via USB, making it ideal for high-altitude trekking where oxygen levels might struggle to support a flame. Complementing it is a high-temperature butane torch lighter, capable of producing a concentrated jet flame that reaches 2800 degrees Fahrenheit, perfect for igniting stubborn damp tinder or thicker fuel sources. Both units are encased in a durable silicone rubber and zinc alloy shell designed for the rigors of the trail. Featuring an IP56 waterproof rating and a metal ring locking clasp, these lighters are built to stay dry and functional even if they take a tumble into a stream or endure a heavy downpour. While the butane unit requires separate fuel, the inclusion of lanyards and the compact, palm-sized form factor ensures they remain accessible when clipped to a pack or stowed in a tactical vest.

Ravvy AI insight

The real value here is the redundancy; having both a plasma arc for wind and a butane torch for heat intensity covers almost all outdoor failure points. Buyers should note that the butane unit arrives empty due to shipping laws, so you must purchase high-quality filtered butane separately to ensure the jet valve does not clog.

Ensuring a Waterproof Seal

Always double check that the locking clasp is fully engaged before exposing the lighters to water. The rubber gasket only provides a waterproof seal when the lid is tightly compressed.

Ownership tips

tip

Purge Before Refilling

Before filling the butane lighter, use a small tool to press the fill valve and release any trapped air. This ensures a consistent flame and prevents the lighter from sputtering during use.

care

Clean the Electrodes

Carbon buildup can accumulate on the plasma arc tips over time. Gently wipe the electrodes with a dry cloth or a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol to maintain a strong spark.

Frequently asked questions

Does the butane lighter come pre-filled?

No, per safety regulations, the butane lighter is shipped empty. You will need to purchase a butane fuel canister separately to fill it before its first use.

How long does the electric lighter battery last?

On a full charge, the dual-arc lighter can provide approximately 300 sparks. For most campers, this typically lasts about a week of moderate daily use.

Can I use the arc lighter for a campfire?

Yes, but it works best for lighting thin tinder, paper, or dry grass. For thicker branches, the included butane torch is the more effective tool due to its higher heat output.

Is the electric lighter safe for high altitudes?

Yes, plasma lighters are superior for high-altitude use because they do not rely on oxygen to create a spark, unlike traditional flame lighters that often struggle in thin air.
