What it is

The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra represents a significant leap in robotic cleaning technology, prioritizing edge-to-edge precision that most competitors miss. By integrating the FlexiArm side brush and a dedicated edge mop, this device effectively eliminates the common 'dirty border' left by circular robots. The massive 10,000 Pa suction power ensures that even deep-pile carpets are relieved of embedded dust, while the dual-roller system works to prevent the hair tangles that typically plague multi-pet households. Beyond simple cleaning, the Ultra dock functions as a miniature service station. It utilizes hot water to sanitize mops and intelligent sensors to determine if a floor requires a second pass. The addition of the 'Hello Rocky' local voice assistant and live video calling adds a layer of smart home integration that goes beyond utility, allowing users to monitor pets or navigate the home remotely. While the physical footprint is substantial, the trade-off is a nearly autonomous system that manages its own water, detergent, and debris for weeks at a time.

Ravvy AI insight

The S8 MaxV Ultra's real value lies in its Reactive AI 2.0, which handles complex obstacles better than almost any other unit, making it ideal for homes where floors are rarely perfectly tidy. Its 20mm mop lift is also a category leader, meaning it can transition from hard floors to medium-pile rugs without getting the carpet damp. High-frequency users should note that the detergent dispenser significantly improves grease removal compared to water-only models.

Ownership tips

care

Clean the Dock Filter Regularly

While the dock is self-cleaning, the small water filter at the bottom can collect lint and hair over time. Inspect it once a month to ensure the drainage system remains clear and efficient.
