What it is

The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra represents the pinnacle of robotic floor care, combining extreme suction power with a sophisticated mechanical arm. The standout FlexiArm side brush and secondary edge mop solve the age-old problem of missed corners, extending physically to reach baseboards where other robots fail. This unit is not just a vacuum but a full maintenance system that washes its own mops with hot water and dries them to prevent odors, requiring minimal human intervention for weeks at a time. Beyond basic cleaning, this model integrates advanced Reactive AI 2.0 and a built-in voice assistant. It can identify over 70 unique objects to avoid obstacles while simultaneously acting as a mobile security camera for pet monitoring. The VibraRise 3.0 system handles stubborn stains by scrubbing at 4,000 vibrations per minute, while the dual-roller brush system significantly reduces the frustration of tangled hair on carpets and hard floors.

Ravvy AI insight

While the 10,000 Pa suction is a headline-grabbing spec, the real value lies in the DirtTech sensors and hot water mop washing. These features ensure the robot does not just smear dirt around but actually sanitizes the mop head between cycles. The dual-camera AI is particularly effective for households with unpredictable clutter like shoes or pet toys.

How to get the most out of it

Setup No-Go Zones

Use the 3D mapping feature to draw no-go zones around delicate furniture or high-pile shag rugs. Although the mop lifts 20mm, very thick carpets can still get damp without specific boundary settings.

Ownership tips

tip

Optimize Water Usage

Use the Intelligent Dirt Detection settings in the app to allow the robot to decide when a second mop pass is necessary. This saves water and battery on cleaner days while ensuring a deep clean when the floors are actually muddy.

care

Maintain the Dock Filter

Even with self-cleaning features, you should check the dock's water filter every month. Rinsing it under a tap prevents debris buildup that can lead to drainage errors or odors over time.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work on high-pile carpets?

Yes, it features a 20mm mop lift mechanism that automatically retracts the mopping pad when carpet is detected. However, for extremely plush rugs, you should use the app to set carpet-only zones or 'avoid carpet' modes.

How often do I need to empty the dock?

The dust bag typically lasts up to 7 weeks depending on the amount of pet hair in your home. The clean water tank will need a refill and the dirty water tank will need emptying every 3 to 7 days depending on your cleaning frequency.

Can I use my own floor cleaner?

It is recommended to use only Roborock-branded cleaning solution in the dedicated detergent dispenser. Third-party chemicals can corrode the internal pumps or cause excessive foaming that interferes with the sensors.

Is the camera secure for privacy?

Roborock uses TUV Rheinland certification for cybersecurity. The video stream is encrypted, and the robot provides audible alerts when the camera is active to ensure everyone in the home is aware of the monitoring.
