What it is

The Sonos Era 300 represents a significant shift in home audio by prioritizing spatial audio over traditional stereo. Its unique cinched hourglass design houses six drivers strategically aimed to bounce sound off walls and ceilings, creating a three dimensional soundstage that feels far larger than the physical unit. Whether you are streaming high fidelity tracks or using it as a rear satellite, the depth and height it adds to the listening experience are immediately noticeable. Sonos has finally embraced flexibility by including Bluetooth and line in capabilities alongside their robust WiFi ecosystem. While the required line in adapter is sold separately, the ability to connect a turntable directly to this smart speaker makes it a versatile hub for modern and analog collections. The integration with Sonos Voice Control and Amazon Alexa provides seamless hands free management while maintaining a strong focus on user privacy.

Ravvy AI insight

When comparing this to the Era 100, the 300 is a specialized tool meant for large rooms or as part of a high end 7.1.4 home theater setup. To get the most value, ensure your streaming service supports Dolby Atmos, as standard stereo tracks do not fully utilize the upward firing drivers. If you plan on connecting a turntable, factor in the cost of the proprietary Sonos Line In Adapter which is not included in the box.
