What it is

The Stanley Wildfare Go set is a masterclass in space efficiency for outdoor enthusiasts. Centered around a 32 ounce 18/8 stainless steel pot, this kit manages to pack two double wall insulated cups directly inside its frame. The vented lid doubles as a strainer, making it just as useful for boiling pasta as it is for brewing morning coffee. A locking handle secures the entire stack, ensuring no rattling or lost components during transit. Durability is the primary selling point here, as the heavy duty steel construction resists the typical dings and soot staining common with open flame cooking. Unlike aluminum sets that can warp under high heat, this pot maintains its shape and seals tightly. The included cups are designed to stay cool to the touch while keeping liquids warm, addressing the common camper complaint of burnt fingers or cold tea. It is a no-nonsense solution for those who prioritize longevity over shaving every possible gram from their pack weight.

Ravvy AI insight

While marketed as a budget friendly option, the 18/8 steel quality matches professional grade cookware. Users should note that the locking handle mechanism is a major upgrade over the sliding clips found on cheaper generic sets, providing real security when the pot is full of boiling liquid. For the best experience, pair this with a small canister stove that can actually fit inside the cups to create a fully self contained kitchen.

How to get the most out of it

Maximize Pack Space

Utilize the empty space inside the nested cups to store a small lighter, a folding spork, or coffee packets. This turns the cook set into a complete coffee or meal kit without taking up extra room in your bag.

Ownership tips

care

Prevent Soot Buildup

If cooking over an open campfire, rub a thin layer of biodegradable dish soap on the exterior of the pot before heating. This prevents soot from baking onto the steel and makes cleanup significantly easier.

tip

Check the Lock

Always ensure the handle is fully clicked into the locked position before lifting a full pot of boiling water. The tension lock is very secure but requires a firm push to engage properly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this pot over a campfire?

Yes, the 18/8 stainless steel is designed to withstand direct heat from campfires or portable stoves. However, be cautious of the plastic tab on the lid, which should be kept away from direct flames to avoid melting.

Do the cups have lids?

The set does not include individual lids for the cups. They are designed as open top double wall tumblers that nest perfectly inside the main pot to save space.

Is the pot large enough for two people?

The 32 ounce capacity is ideal for boiling enough water for two dehydrated meals or two large cups of coffee. It is generally considered a two person minimalist set.

Will a small stove fit inside the pot?

Many small backpacking stoves, like a Pocket Rocket, can fit inside the nested cups along with the lid closed. However, standard fuel canisters are usually too wide to fit inside this specific 32oz model.
