What it is

The Tenrai Portable Cat Playpen distinguishes itself from standard cylindrical enclosures with a unique trapezoidal geometry. This wider base significantly lowers the center of gravity, making it much harder for energetic kittens or medium-sized dogs to tip the structure over during play. Constructed from durable 600D Oxford cloth and reinforced mesh, it serves as a secure sanctuary that prevents escapes while offering 360-degree visibility for your pet. Designed with versatility in mind, this playpen features a removable bottom that allows pets to feel the grass or sand beneath their paws during outdoor excursions. The zippered top and side entrances provide multiple access points for adding toys or water bowls without letting the occupant out. Its lightweight, foldable frame makes it a practical choice for camping trips or temporary containment at home when you cannot provide direct supervision.

Ravvy AI insight

The trapezoidal design is a genuine innovation for cat owners, as it effectively counters the 'climb and collapse' issue common in vertical-walled nylon pens. While the 600D fabric is rugged, we recommend placing a soft mat inside if using it on hard surfaces, as the removable floor is thin to maintain its lightweight profile for travel.

To collapse the unit, push the top corners inward toward the center to flatten the steel frame. Practice this a few times at home before taking it on a camping trip to ensure a stress-free experience.

Ownership tips

tip

Use as a Ball Pit

Turn the enclosure on its side and zip the top shut to create a contained ball pit for kittens. The trapezoidal shape keeps the balls from spilling out even during vigorous play sessions.

care

Cleaning the Fabric

Wipe down the polyester walls with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid machine washing as it may damage the internal steel frame and the integrity of the mesh panels.

Frequently asked questions

Will a cat be able to tip this over?

Unlike standard square playpens, the trapezoidal design makes this unit exceptionally stable. The wider bottom prevents the enclosure from rolling or flipping if a cat jumps against the mesh walls.

Can I use this without the bottom panel?

Yes, the bottom is fully removable via a zipper. This is a great feature for outdoor use, allowing your pet to enjoy the feel of grass while remaining safely contained.

Is the mesh strong enough for claws?

The playpen uses anti-tear mesh and 600D Oxford fabric, which is significantly tougher than standard nylon. It will withstand normal scratching from kittens and puppies, though determined chewers may eventually cause damage.

Is this playpen suitable for medium-sized dogs?

It is designed for medium breed sizes. The interior space is roughly 49 inches long, providing ample room for a medium dog to turn around and lie down comfortably, but it is not intended for very tall breeds.
