What it is
The Top tasta soft sided carrier offers a practical solution for pet owners who need a lightweight, airline compliant transport bag without a high price tag. Constructed with a reinforced steel wire frame, it maintains its shape better than many flimsy fabric competitors, ensuring your pet does not feel crushed during transit. The four sided mesh panels provide excellent ventilation and visibility, which is essential for reducing anxiety in nervous travelers who need to see their surroundings. Inside, the carrier features a removable plush mat that provides a soft landing spot for your pet, though it can be swapped for a cooling pad in warmer climates. The exterior is made from scratch resistant polyester designed to withstand the inevitable claws of a restless cat. While the 15 pound weight limit is the technical maximum, the interior dimensions are best suited for smaller breeds or kittens who prefer a cozy, enclosed space during car rides or flights.
Ravvy AI insight
At its price point, this carrier punches above its weight due to the integrated steel frame which prevents the 'sagging ceiling' issue common in cheap bags. Pay close attention to the 11 inch height; while it meets most airline under-seat requirements, it may be restrictive for tall-eared dogs or long-bodied cats. I recommend this specifically for kittens or toy breeds under 10 pounds for optimal comfort.

Cleaning the Interior
Remove the plush mat and hand wash it in cold water to preserve the softness. The polyester shell should be wiped down with a damp cloth and mild soap rather than submerged in a machine.
Frequently asked questions
Does this carrier fit under a standard airplane seat?
Yes, the 18 by 11 by 11 inch dimensions are designed to meet the requirements for most major domestic airlines. However, always verify with your specific carrier as seat sizes vary by aircraft model.
Is the bottom of the carrier rigid enough for a 12 pound cat?
The carrier includes a firm base board covered by a plush mat which provides decent support. While it may slightly bow under a heavy pet, the steel frame helps maintain the overall structure better than frameless bags.
Can the pet escape through the zippers?
This model features non-slip zippers designed to stay closed even if a pet paws at them from the inside. For extra security, ensure the zipper pulls are positioned at a corner where they are harder for a pet to reach.
Is it suitable for long car trips?
It is suitable for car trips as it can be secured using a seatbelt through the carry handles. The mesh windows ensure your pet stays cool, though for very long trips, ensure you stop frequently for water and stretching.
