What it is

The Waterdrop DLS C002 compatible filters offer a significant cost-saving solution for DeLonghi espresso machine owners who want to maintain their machine without paying premium OEM prices. Using a combination of ion exchange resin and granular activated carbon, these filters target chlorine, odors, and heavy metals. By reducing limescale buildup, they help prolong the lifespan of the internal heating elements, which is the most common point of failure in high-end brewers. Installation is straightforward and requires no tools, though users must follow a specific pre-soaking ritual to ensure the filter performs correctly. The six-pack format provides a full year of filtration based on the recommended two-month swap interval. While these are third-party components, they carry TÜV SÜD certification for chlorine reduction, providing a level of quality assurance that generic no-name brands often lack.

Ravvy AI insight

When comparing this 6-pack to the single OEM filter, the price per unit is nearly three times lower. While the material quality is plastic, the inclusion of PFAS and PFOA reduction capability makes this a safer bet than cheaper charcoal-only alternatives.

How to get the most out of it

Ensure Proper Saturation

Before placing the filter in your tank, submerge it in water for at least 5 minutes and shake it gently to release all air bubbles. Trapped air can restrict water flow and cause the machine to struggle during brewing.

Ownership tips

tip

Set a Calendar Reminder

Water quality degrades slowly, so it is hard to taste when the filter is spent. Mark your calendar for a swap every 60 days to ensure your machine's internals remain free of scale.

care

Store Spares Properly

Keep the remaining filters in their original sealed packaging in a cool, dry place. Exposure to moisture or extreme heat before use can degrade the activated carbon and resin inside.
