What it is

The Winisok Under Sink Mat serves as a durable first line of defense for the vulnerable wooden floors of your kitchen or bathroom cabinets. Crafted from thick, flexible silicone, this mat features a raised perimeter lip designed to contain liquid should a pipe burst or a cleaning bottle leak. Unlike thin plastic liners that curl at the edges, this weighted material lays flat immediately upon installation and stays securely in place without adhesives. Beyond just moisture protection, the dark gray finish and textured surface provide a clean, modern look that hides scuffs and stains. The material is inherently heat resistant and waterproof, making it easy to pull out and spray down in the sink if it becomes soiled. Because it can be trimmed with standard utility shears, it is an adaptable solution for cabinets with complex plumbing configurations or center supports.

Ravvy AI insight

When comparing silicone mats, the lip height and flexibility are the most critical factors. The Winisok offers a high capacity for water containment compared to flat shelf liners, making it a reactive tool for leak detection rather than just a cosmetic cover. If your cabinet has floor-mounted pipes, be prepared to lose some containment volume where you make necessary relief cuts.

How to get the most out of it

Measuring for Best Fit

Measure the interior floor of your cabinet from wall to wall. If your cabinet is exactly 34 inches wide, this mat will fit snugly against the sides to prevent water from reaching the wood seams.

Ownership tips

tip

Customizing for Pipes

If your plumbing comes up through the bottom of the cabinet, use a sharp utility knife to cut a small X at the pipe location. Slide the mat over the pipe to maintain as much of the waterproof barrier as possible.

care

Maintaining the Surface

Wipe down with a damp cloth and mild soap for routine cleaning. For heavy spills, the mat can be fully removed and hosed down outdoors or in a bathtub without damaging the material.

Frequently asked questions

Will this mat arrive with a strong chemical smell?

No, this mat is made from high quality silicone which is generally odorless. Unlike PVC or low grade rubber mats, it does not off-gas or leave a lingering plastic scent inside enclosed cabinets.

Can I use this for things other than a sink?

Yes, it works well as a pet feeding station to catch water bowl splashes or as a boot tray in a mudroom. Its heat resistance also makes it suitable for use under small kitchen appliances.

How do I flatten the mat after shipping?

Because it is made of flexible silicone, it should lay flat almost immediately. If there are slight creases from being folded, simply let it sit at room temperature for an hour or apply a small amount of heat with a hair dryer.

Is the material easy to cut?

Yes, standard household scissors or a box cutter will easily slice through the silicone. This allows you to accommodate corner blocks or unique cabinet dimensions without fraying the edges.
