What it is

The fourth generation of Apple's standard AirPods focuses heavily on physical refinement and acoustic clarity. By shrinking the charging case by ten percent and shortening the stems, Apple has managed to improve ergonomics while maintaining the open-ear fit that many users prefer over silicone tips. The integration of the H2 chip brings significant computational improvements to call quality, specifically through Voice Isolation which helps clear up background noise during meetings or phone calls. While this model lacks Active Noise Cancellation, it retains high-end features like Personalized Spatial Audio and dynamic head tracking. The addition of head gestures for Siri interactions allows for hands-free call management by simply nodding or shaking your head. It is a robust entry-point into the Apple ecosystem, offering IP54 protection for both the buds and the case, making them durable enough for gym sessions or light rain.

Ravvy AI insight

These earbuds represent a sweet spot for productivity rather than pure isolation. The H2 chip's ability to isolate voice in windy or loud conditions makes them a superior choice for professional calls compared to previous generations, but the open design means they are less effective for focused work in crowded cafes.
