What it is

The Bissell Little Green 1400B has earned its reputation as a staple for pet owners and car enthusiasts alike. Its compact footprint belies its suction power, making it an ideal choice for localized spills on rugs or deep cleaning car seats that have seen better days. The machine operates on a simple spray, scrub, and suction mechanism that remains one of the most effective ways to lift embedded dirt without hauling out a full sized carpet cleaner. While it excels at spot treatment, users should manage expectations regarding its reach. The 48 ounce tank is generous for its size, but you will still find yourself refilling for larger projects like a full staircase. However, the addition of specialized tools like the HydroRinse self cleaner shows a thoughtful approach to maintenance, ensuring the hose stays clear of mold and lingering odors after the job is done.

Ravvy AI insight

Despite being an older model, the 1400B remains a market leader because it balances weight and suction better than many newer, bulkier units. Buyers should prioritize using the manufacturer recommended formula to prevent internal clogging, as the pump mechanism is sensitive to third party chemicals.

Frequently asked questions

Does this machine work on car seats?

Yes, it is one of the most popular tools for automotive detailing. The compact size allows it to fit on floorboards while you clean the upholstery and floor mats.

Can I use other cleaning solutions in the tank?

It is recommended to use Bissell branded formulas. Some third party soaps can be too sudsy or contain chemicals that degrade the internal seals and pump over time.

How long does it take for carpets to dry?

Typically, treated areas dry within 2 to 4 hours. You can speed this up by performing extra suction only passes to pull as much moisture as possible out of the fibers.

Is the hose replaceable if it cracks?

The hose is integrated into the unit. While it is not designed to be easily swapped by users, proper storage without sharp bends will significantly extend its lifespan.
