What it is

The BISSELL Little Green Spot and Stain Solution is a specialized concentrate designed for portable deep cleaning machines. Unlike generic detergents, this formula utilizes an active oxygen mechanism to break down organic bonds in difficult spills like wine, coffee, and pet accidents. The triple action approach does not just lift surface debris but actively targets deep odors to prevent pets from returning to the same spot for remarking. A standout feature of this specific 2038G formula is the integrated StainProtect technology. By coating carpet fibers during the cleaning process, it creates a temporary barrier that prevents future spills from setting in as quickly. This makes it an ideal choice for high traffic areas or homes with active toddlers and pets where recurring accidents are a statistical certainty. It works effectively across various fabric types and upholstery when used in accordance with machine manufacturer guidelines.

Ravvy AI insight

While marketed for BISSELL machines, this low-suds formula is safe for most major portable spot cleaner brands. Focus on the OXY variant specifically for light-colored carpets where stubborn pigment stains like red wine or grape juice are a concern. The 32oz size provides excellent value compared to smaller trial bottles, often lasting through dozens of spot treatments.

How to get the most out of it

Optimizing Dilution

Always follow the ratio on your machine's tank rather than guessing. Using too much concentrate can leave a sticky residue that actually attracts more dirt over time.

Ownership tips

tip

Pre-treat for Best Results

For set-in stains, apply a small amount of the solution directly to the spot and let it sit for 5 minutes before running the machine's suction and brush.

Storage Safety

Store the bottle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. High heat can degrade the oxygen-based active ingredients, making the cleaner less effective over time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this in a full-size upright carpet cleaner?

This formula is specifically optimized for portable, handheld spot cleaners. While it won't damage an upright machine, it is not as efficient for large-room cleaning as the specialized upright formulas.

Is this product safe for use around pets?

Yes, when used as directed, it is safe for households with pets. It actively removes the pheromones that cause pets to repeat accidents in the same location.

Does it work on old, set-in stains?

The OXY technology is designed to break down the bonds of old stains. For best results on aged spots, allow the solution to dwell on the fabric for several minutes before extracting.

Will this bleach my colored carpets?

No, the oxygen-based cleaner is color-safe for most carpets and upholstery. However, you should always test a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure colorfastness.
