What it is
The LEGO Speed Champions Mercedes-AMG double pack bridges the gap between complex display models and durable play sets. By pairing the boxy, aggressive architecture of the G 63 with the aerodynamic curves of the SL 63, this 808 piece set offers two distinct building techniques in one box. Builders will appreciate how LEGO designers translated the G Wagon's signature rugged profile using clever vertical stacking, while the SL 63 utilizes smooth, low profile elements to capture its convertible spirit. Beyond the build itself, these models feel substantial and balanced. While many Speed Champions sets focus solely on racing heritage, this luxury duo appeals to lifestyle enthusiasts and automotive collectors alike. The inclusion of two driver minifigures in authentic Mercedes livery adds immediate roleplay value, making it a versatile gift for younger fans who want to race and older hobbyists who prefer shelf ready aesthetics.
Ravvy AI insight
At over 800 pieces for under 30 dollars, this set offers a significantly lower price per piece than single vehicle Speed Champions releases. The G 63 model is particularly noteworthy for its scale, standing taller and feeling more rugged than typical cars in this line, which justifies the 'Age 10 plus' rating due to dense internal brickwork.

How to get the most out of it
Manage the Build Process
Since this is a two car set, the bags are numbered separately. Build one car completely before opening bags for the second to avoid mixing up the black and grey structural pieces.
Ownership tips
tip
Use Tweezers for Stickers
Many of the Mercedes logos and grille details are small stickers. Using a pair of tweezers will help you align them perfectly without leaving finger oils on the adhesive.

Cleaning Your Models
Display models attract dust quickly. Use a soft makeup brush or canned air to clean the nooks of the G 63's roof and hood without dislodging the smaller decorative elements.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to build both cars?
Most builders spend between two and three hours to complete both vehicles. The G 63 is more time consuming due to its complex side paneling and height.
Can the minifigures fit inside the cars with the roofs on?
Yes, both vehicles are designed to accommodate the included minifigures in the driver seats while fully assembled. The SL 63 looks particularly good with the driver in place.
Is this set compatible with other LEGO road systems?
These cars follow the 8-stud wide format common in modern Speed Champions sets. While they fit on many custom roads, they may be slightly wider than older 6-stud LEGO City vehicle lanes.
Are there any moving parts besides the wheels?
These are primarily static display and roll-play models. While the wheels spin freely, the doors and hoods do not open to maintain the structural integrity and scale accuracy.
