What it is

The LEGO Technic 2022 Ford GT is a sophisticated 1,468-piece tribute to American performance. Designed specifically for adult builders, this set goes beyond surface aesthetics to replicate the intricate mechanics of the real supercar. You will assemble a working V6 engine with moving pistons, a rear-wheel drive system with a functional differential, and independent four-wheel suspension that mimics the handling of the actual track-focused beast. What sets this model apart is the attention to aerodynamic detail, featuring an adjustable spoiler and an opening hood that reveals the inner workings. The iconic dark blue finish and white racing stripes provide a striking visual presence, making it a premier display piece. The build process is challenging but rewarding, utilizing the Technic system to showcase how complex steering and suspension components interact in a high-performance vehicle environment.

Ravvy AI insight

While the 1:12 scale is smaller than flagship Technic sets, this model offers a higher density of mechanical features for its size and price point. Prospective buyers should note that the stickers require precision, but the inclusion of unique transparent engine parts provides a superior view of the piston movement compared to older sets.

Use a pair of tweezers or a brick separator edge to align the racing stripe stickers perfectly. This ensures a professional finish without leaving fingerprints on the adhesive.

Ownership tips

care

Dust Management

Because of the open engine bay and suspension gaps, use compressed air or a soft makeup brush for cleaning. This prevents dust buildup inside the moving gear mechanisms.

tip

Gear Testing

Test the movement of the pistons and differential at each major assembly stage. It is much easier to fix a misplaced gear early than to disassemble the finished car.
