What it is

The Ninsula 10-piece furniture slider set is a practical solution for homeowners who frequently rearrange rooms or need to deep clean beneath heavy upholstery. Measuring 3.5 inches in diameter, these round gliders utilize a dual-material design featuring a low-friction plastic base and a dense EVA foam top. The foam provides a non-slip grip that keeps furniture legs centered during movement, while the smooth underside minimizes surface drag. While these sliders are marketed for both hard floors and carpets, their plastic bottom is particularly effective on textile surfaces like rugs and low-pile carpets. The set is durable enough to be left under furniture permanently for ongoing protection or stored away for occasional moves. For those dealing with heavy cabinetry or dining sets, these small discs significantly reduce the physical strain required to slide items across a room.

Ravvy AI insight

At under six dollars for a 10-pack, this kit offers high utility for residential use. The 3.5-inch size is the sweet spot for standard chair and table legs, though for oversized sofas, you may want to look for 5-inch variants to ensure weight distribution. Always ensure the plastic side is wiped clean before placing it on wood to prevent trapped grit from causing scratches.

How to get the most out of it

Centering for Stability

Place the furniture leg directly in the center of the foam pad. If the leg sits on the edge, the slider may tilt or pop out when you begin to apply horizontal force.

Ownership tips

tip

Clean the Floor First

Before sliding heavy items on hardwood, sweep the area thoroughly. Even a small grain of sand trapped under the plastic disc can act like sandpaper and leave a permanent scratch.

care

Long-term Storage

If you remove the sliders after a move, wipe the plastic side with a damp cloth to remove any static-clung dust. Store them in a cool, dry place to keep the EVA foam from losing its grip.

Frequently asked questions

Can these be left under furniture permanently?

Yes, these are designed to be used both for temporary moves and as permanent glides. The beige color and low profile make them relatively unobtrusive under most wooden legs.

Are these suitable for tile floors with grout lines?

They will work on tile, but you may feel some resistance when crossing wide grout lines. The 3.5-inch diameter is usually wide enough to bridge standard grout gaps without catching.

Do I need adhesive to keep them on?

No adhesive is required. The weight of the furniture compresses the EVA foam, which creates a natural friction grip that keeps the slider in place while you move the item.

Will these work on thick shag carpet?

They work best on low to medium pile carpets. On very deep shag, the slider may sink slightly, but the smooth plastic bottom will still make moving the item significantly easier than without them.
