What it is

The ASUS ProArt PA248QV strikes a rare balance in the entry-level professional market by offering a 16:10 aspect ratio and Calman-verified color accuracy at a price usually reserved for consumer-grade office panels. The extra vertical space provided by the 1920 x 1200 resolution is a subtle but significant benefit for timeline-based work in video editing or multi-page document design. Unlike standard 1080p monitors, this screen feels less cramped when using dense software interfaces like Lightroom or Premiere Pro. Built with an IPS panel that covers 100% of the sRGB and Rec.709 color spaces, this monitor arrives factory-calibrated with a Delta E score of less than two. This means what you see on the screen matches industry standards right out of the box, reducing the need for expensive external calibration tools for beginners. The hardware is equally impressive, featuring a fully ergonomic stand that supports height, tilt, swivel, and 90-degree pivot adjustments, alongside an integrated USB hub that simplifies desktop cable management.

Ravvy AI insight

While the 75Hz refresh rate and Adaptive-Sync are nice bonuses, the real value here is the factory calibration and the 16:10 aspect ratio. For those working in print or web design, the extra 120 vertical pixels provide roughly 11 percent more workspace than standard HD. Given the 5-year warranty with registration, this is a low-risk investment for a dedicated secondary color-critical display.

Frequently asked questions

Is this monitor good for gaming?

While it features a 75Hz refresh rate and Adaptive-Sync which helps with screen tearing, it is designed for color accuracy rather than speed. Hardcore gamers might prefer a 144Hz panel, but it is excellent for casual gaming between work sessions.

Does it work with Mac computers?

Yes, it is fully compatible with Mac desktops and laptops via HDMI or DisplayPort. If your Mac only has USB-C, you will need a USB-C to DisplayPort or HDMI adapter.

What is the benefit of 16:10 over 16:9?

The 16:10 ratio provides a 1920x1200 resolution, giving you extra vertical pixels. This is highly beneficial for reading documents side-by-side or seeing more of a timeline in video editing software.

Does it have built-in speakers?

Yes, it has two 2-watt speakers. However, they are basic and lack bass, so they are best used for notifications or basic playback rather than professional audio work.
