ASUS ProArt PA278QV 27 Inch 1440p QHD Professional Monitor 27" QHD DP / Mini DP image 1

Ravvy verdict

89.5 / 100

This monitor is a high-value pick because it bypasses expensive features like 4K or high HDR brightness to focus strictly on color fidelity. While the 75Hz refresh rate is a modest bump over standard 60Hz panels, it is not a gaming screen. Buyers should prioritize this model if their workflow relies on sRGB standards rather than DCI-P3, as its specialized calibration is tuned for web and standard video production.

Best for: Graphic designers and photo editors seeking color accuracy on a budget.
Buy it if: You want factory calibrated for excellent color accuracy.
Skip it if: Resolution is 1440p rather than 4K would be a dealbreaker.
Best alternative: ASUS ProArt PA248QV 24 Inch WUXGA 16:10 Professional Monitor 24.1" 16:10 DP 100% sRGB (photographers and graphic designers on a budget)

What it is

The ASUS ProArt PA278QV strikes an impressive balance between professional-grade color accuracy and consumer-level pricing. Out of the box, this 27-inch QHD monitor is Calman Verified with a Delta E rating under two, ensuring that the colors you see on screen are virtually identical to the final output. The matte IPS panel provides excellent 178 degree viewing angles and covers 100 percent of the sRGB and Rec. 709 color spaces, making it a reliable workhorse for web designers, photographers, and video editors who need consistent results. Beyond its visual performance, the PA278QV excels in ergonomics and connectivity. The stand offers full tilt, pivot, swivel, and height adjustments, allowing for a comfortable setup regardless of desk height. With an array of legacy and modern ports including Mini DisplayPort and DVI-D, it integrates easily into diverse hardware environments. While it lacks the high refresh rates found in dedicated gaming monitors, its 75Hz panel and flicker-free technology provide a smooth, fatigue-free experience for long work sessions.

Cleaning the Matte Screen

Use a dry microfiber cloth to gently remove dust from the matte surface. For fingerprints, apply a small amount of distilled water to the cloth rather than spraying the screen directly to protect the anti-glare coating.
